Al-fresco Fizz 'n' Chips

This is a decadent Summer's evening exploring one of life's most simple but indulgent food and wine pairings, sparkling wine with a fish & chip supper.

This event will be hosted at The Walled Garden in Little Plumstead on their delightful outdoor terrace.  We will donate 10% of the ticket price to the Walled Garden Community Shop and Cafe community benefit society

The evening starts with an introduction to the origins of sparkling wine. We'll then share the secret of how the bubbles get into the bottle. 

In the first tasting of the evening we'll show you how to tell the difference between a Prosecco, a Cava and a Champagne. 

We'll then explain why sparkling wine is a match made in heaven with fish and chips and you'll enjoy a traditional fish supper from Norfolk's popular mobile fish and chip van, Nippy Chippy, paired with 2 more sparkling wines.

During the evening you will taste six different styles of sparkling wine:

• A French regional Sparkling wine
• A Prosecco from Italy
• A Cava from Spain
• A 1er Cru Champagne from France
• A Champagne look-a-like from the New World
• A fine English Fizz

Please note this is an outdoor event
The terrace area will be covered in the event of light rain or drizzle. The terrace is sheltered but not heated so if it is a little chilly we recommend you bring a jumper. If the weather looks unfavourable we reserve the right to cancel and will refund all guests in full. 

Please be aware that this event starts promptly at 6.45pm and will last for around 2 hours. We recommend that you allow at least 15 minutes after the stated finish time before your transport home in case the event runs over schedule.
