Fizz n Chips Friday; Champagne and Sparkling Wine with a Fish and Chip Supper
Join us to enjoy a decadent evening of fine Sparkling Wine and a Fish and Chip Supper specially prepared by the Chef at OPEN, Norwich.
At this tasting will explore the different styles of Sparkling Wine before we try one of the most spectacular food and wine matches, lightly fried food with Sparkling wine.
We will talk about where the first Sparkling Wine came from, including how it is made and learn all about the origins of the world's most famous Fizz, Champagne. Ever wondered how the bubbles get inside the bottle? Want to know what different terms like 'NV' on the bottle actually mean? During the evening we will taste a variety of styles of Sparkling wine from a selection including a Champagne, a delicious Cava, a light and lively Prosecco, a Champagne look-a-like and a fine English Fizz.
Then you will be served a full size portion of lightly fried Fish and Chips in a delicious tempura style batter (or a suitable alternative for those who don't eat fish). During the meal we will explain why Sparkling Wine with delicately deep-fried food is a classic food and wine pairing that is a match made in heaven! You will taste 6 fantastic fiizz's, including a fine Champagne and try 3 different Sparklers with your meal. You'lll then get to vote which wine you think works best.
Professional ISO tasting glasses, all tasting materials including tasting shetes and table water are provided as are all condiments for your meal.
